
Dr. Hannah Messerli, professor of graduate courses in tourism planning, development, economics and international consulting, will present: "Tourism as an Economic and Well-Being Development Tool: Is the World Bank in the Tourism Business?"
This is an interactive seminar that will provide insight and in particular, the role of the World Bank in supporting tourism development.
Dr. Messerli serves as Chair of GW's International Institute of Tourism Studies. She is a former staff in the Trade and Competitveness Global Practice of the World Bank. She has supported development of government initiatives to develop tourism private sector capacity in countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. Her focus is on cultural heritage and nature-based tourism development in emerging economies.
