It’s 1954, and Baltimore is the backdrop for a music- and hormone-fueled teen culture clash!
Baldwin and his doo-wop group, the Whiffles, epitomize the squeaky-clean Squares. Rock’n’roll bad boy “Cry-Baby” Walker and girl-group trio the Teardrops lead the rebellious Drapes. Sparks start flying when Cry-Baby meets Baldwin’s girlfriend, the beautiful and well-to-do Allison Vernon-Williams, and their mutual attraction is obvious to all.
As the romance heats up, tensions between Squares and Drapes erupt into a full-fledged conflagration, and Cry-Baby and his friends are framed for arson and thrown in jail.
Will justice prevail before Baldwin hustles Allison down the aisle?
Cry-Baby the Musical is a campy comedy and the ultimate battle of the bands!
