This presentation will focus on the business aspects of implementing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI – an IoT technology) and using data analytics to improve op efficiency.
Utilities, for years, have inherently been a place of little or slow change.
We have done metering in the same way for 50+ years, all a manual process.
Over the last 30+ years, we have built information systems that are great at collecting data, but we do not do much with that data.
Utility companies, including City Utilities, are finally embracing technology in new ways, and at the forefront are IoT and data analytics.
