Protecting Your Intellectual Property

Protecting Your Intellectual Property
Date and time
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM, April 26, 2018
Description

Intellectual property (IP) assets can be among the most valuable assets for any small business, but not many entrepreneurs and small business owners take the necessary steps to protect and defend those assets. This interactive seminar will cover the four basic types of IP: patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets. The discussion will include an overview of the steps needed to secure IP protection, what rights that protection conveys and how to defend your IP.

We will address questions such as:

  • For small-business owners, is it worth the time and effort to secure intellectual property rights?
  • Once I get a trademark, my brand is safe, right?
  • Having a patent gives me the right to produce something; wait it doesn’t?
  • If I have a patent or trademark in the United States, do I need to worry about the rest of the world?

This seminar is designed to provide practical business advice – not legal advice.
