Description

Come join us for the 19th Annual Electronic Arts Student Showcase.

The Electronic Arts (EA) Program is an exciting interdisciplinary degree involving animation, interactive new media, audio and video studies. The work produced by EA students is rich, complex, challenging and downright amazing.

Since 2010, EA students have earned 75 awards in national competitions and screened their work in more than 40 film festivals across the world, from California to Florida and India to France.

This year's showcase will feature work from six senior projects, including:

  1. DUST - a short sci-fi thriller about the fate of a young reporter investigating a series of murders and a blackmarket software upgrade that promises to "humanize" androids.

  2. QUEEN CITY SESSIONS - A YouTube series highlighting some of Springfield's best independent bands and the vibrant music scene that exists here in the Queen City of the Ozarks.

  3. POSSESSION - What will the fate of two star-crossed lovers be in a world where people routinely "possess" another person's body to explore life unencumbered?

  4. TOGETHER NATION - A pilot for a new kid's TV series in the vein of Sesame Street. These kid's not only say, but teach us the damnest things!

  5. BELL GARDEN - A ghost story cast in an interactive new media shell. Think the board game Clue on steroids.

  6. TARGETED - An animated short experimental film exploring many aspects of life, including self-awareness of self and anxiety.

The EA Showcase is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m.
