
Celebrate National Poetry Month with visiting poets, Allison Joseph and Jon Tribble tonight at 7:00 PM in the Plaster Student Union Theater.
Joseph, a member of the creative writing faculty at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, serves as editor and poetry editor of the Crab Orchard Review, serves as moderator of the Creative Writers Opportunities List, and is the director of the Young Writers Workshop. Her books and chapbooks include: What Keeps Us Here (Ampersand Press); Soul Train (Carnegie Mellon University Press); In Every Seam (University of Pittsburgh Press); Worldly Pleasures (Word Tech Communications); Imitation of Life (Carnegie Mellon University Press); Voice Poems (Mayapple Press); and My Father's Kites (Steel Toe Books). She is the 2017 recipient of the New Georgia Arts Literary Award.
Tribble, also a member of the Southern Illinois faculty, serves as managing editor of the Crab Orchard Review series editor of the Crab Orchard Series in Poetry. He is the author of two books of poems, Natural State (Glass Lyre Press), and And There Is Many a Good Thing (Salmon Poetry). He is the 2016 winner of the Nazim Hikmet International Poetry Competition.
