
Dr. Michael White from Arizona State University is a national expert on police body-worn cameras. He will present a talk, followed by Q&A and a discussion session.
At Arizona State University, Dr. White is a professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, the associate director of the Center for Violence Prevention and Community Safety and the director of the Criminology and Criminal Justice Doctoral Program.
He is a senior subject matter expert for the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s Smart Policing Initiative and the co-director of Training and Technical Assistance for the U.S. Department of Justice Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program. He testified about body-worn cameras before the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing.
Dr. White is currently conducting a multi-site randomized controlled trial testing the impact of police officer body-worn cameras in Tempe, Arizona, and Spokane, Washington.
