Peer Assistance Leaders Share Their Program: Academic Advisor Forum

Presented by PAL leaders from Zayed University in Dubai.

Expected presenters are Saba Hamdan Saleh Al Maukhaini, Madiha Malik, Fatema Mohammed Qasem Saleh Husain and Maryam Alsayed Hussain Alsayed Ali Al Moosawi.

The PALs Program caters to first year students at Zayed University, as well as upper year levels. It was established in recognition of the fact that students like to help each other with their studies. Therefore, establishing a peer-mentoring program provides assistance to their peers, usually beginning students, in a supportive and encouraging relationship. This type of relationship usually involves the characteristics of role modelling, encouragement and positive reinforcement of achievable academic goals. Come to the Academic Advisor Forum to meet five representatives from this program who are visiting Missouri State University and learn about their program.
