
Dr. Sarah Elsea, a 1990 MSU graduate and recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, is an Associate Professor of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. She received her Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University, where she completed a post-doctoral fellowship in enzymology. Dr. Elsea also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in human molecular genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. The American Board of Medical Genetics has certified her in Clinical Biochemical Genetics.
Dr. Michael Grotewiel received his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University after earning his B.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Grotewiel received the NIH Research Career Development Award from 2001 to 2006 and the Outstanding Departmental Teaching Award in Health Sciences Education in 2007. He is a member of the Genetics Society of America and the Research Society on Alcoholism.
