Author Talk - Thomas A. Peters, Dean of Library Services
Date and time
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM, October 27, 2016
Description

Thomas A. Peters, dean of Library Services at Missouri State University, will give an author talk. His new book, “John T. Woodruff of Springfield, Missouri, in the Ozarks: An Encyclopedic Biography” was published in August.

John T. Woodruff, a key figure in the birth and development of Route 66, was born into poverty in the rural Missouri Ozarks shortly after the end of the Civil War. Eventually, he became the greatest promoter of civic and regional development in the history of Springfield, Missouri. Schools, colleges, hospitals, hotels and resorts all owed their existence and location to Woodruff’s clear vision and indefatigable efforts.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing at the talk.
