Nano-Bio Seminar September 22: Dr. D. Keith Roper of UA
Date and time
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM, September 22, 2016
Description

Innovation frameworks and functional electrodynamics

in nano-, bio-, and meta-materials

Research seminar: Speaker: Dr. D. Keith Roper (UA Nano Bio Photonics Laboratory) Thurs., 9/22/16 at 4:00 PM in Kemper Hall, room 206 - all are invited to this free seminar.

Complex emerging challenges to our environment, health, security, and economy in a global market call for new research strategies that synthesize basic principles and proven best practices with nascent discoveries and innovative new approaches.  This presentation will consider evolving university-government-industry partnerships to translate discovery to marketable innovations as well as examine the potential of emerging electrodynamic structures with unprecedented functionality in self-assembled biomimetic nanoscale metamaterials.

Active electrodynamics offer advanced functionalities to next-generation nano-, bio-, and meta-materials.  D. Keith Roper earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, and a member of the Arkansas Academy of Science.
