R.C. Collins received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from Hendrix College, Conway, AR, and a degree from La Universidad de Murcia in Spanish and French literature, language, and cultures, Murica, Spain. Collins worked as a Field Organizer for One Springfield/No Repeal Campaign, Springfield, MO, overseeing volunteer recruitment and retention, and organizing housing and meals for visiting volunteers. As an Admissions Counselor Assistant at Hendrix College, Collins compiled demographic information on applicants, organized and submitted expense reports, and assisted prospective students through the application process. Collins worked as an Intern for AmeriCorps-Project Transformation, Dallas, TX, running a literacy program for youths in grades 5-9. As a PROMO Volunteer in Jefferson City, MO, Collins lobbied for the Missouri Nondiscrimination Act. As a GLO--the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of the Ozarks, Springfield, MO volunteer, Collins co-founded the Umbrella Group, administers The Umbrella Group Facebook page, and assisted with the 2015 Transgender Day of Remembrance. Collins works as a volunteer for Greater Ozarks Pridefest in Springfield, MO, assisting in volunteer coordination, and planning of multiple events for pride week. Collins was a DREAM (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) Act Assistance volunteer in Little Rock, AR.
