Description

Over 3,000 exoplanets have been confirmed to orbit other stars over the past 25 years. Dr. Peter Plavchan, assistant professor of astronomy, will provide an overview of the different methods used to detect these distant exoplanets, as well as what we've learned and will learn from our discoveries about our universe. He will conclude with describing exoplanet research projects at Missouri State University. 

The luncheon will be held in the Turner Family Hospitality Room on the first floor of the Kenneth E. Meyer Alumni Center. Complimentary parking is available in the attached garage off of McDaniel Street. Feel free to arrive any time after 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at approximately 11:30 a.m., followed by the program at noon. 

The Missouri State University Foundation is excited to host the Bears in the Know Luncheon Series designed to showcase unique areas at Missouri State University and connect personally with our friends and supporters in the community.
