"The Bible and Its Interpretation in the Dead Sea Scrolls" with Dr. Lawrence Schiffman

Everyone is invited to attend a free public lecture by Dr. Lawrence H. Schiffman, "The Bible and Its Interpretation in the Dead Sea Scrolls," Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 7:15 p.m. in PSU Ballroom East, Missouri State University.

Dr. Lawrence Schiffman is Judge Abraham Lieberman Professor of Hebrew and Judaic Studies at New York University and Director of the Global Institute for Advanced Research in Jewish Studies.  As a specialist in the Dead Sea Scrolls, Dr. Schiffman was featured in the PBS Nova series documentary, Secrets of the Dead Sea Scrolls, among others.  More about Dr. Schiffman may be found at http://lawrenceschiffman.com/

This public lecture is presented as part of the 2016 Midwest Jewish Studies Association Conference, September 11-12, hosted by Missouri State University's Religious Studies Department with support from the College of Humanities and Public Affairs, the College of Arts and Letters, and the MSU Departments of: English, Modern and Classical Languages, Music, History, Sociology and Anthropology, Philosophy, the Honors College, and the Center for Community Engagement.
