The Center for Dispute Resolution is offering a Civil and Family Mediation Training October 19-23, 2016, in Springfield, Mo.
We hope you will join us for this highly interactive 3-day (civil mediation training October 19-21) or 5-day (civil and family mediation training October 19-23) training. The first 3 days of the training (October 19-21) train you to conduct civil mediations, and if you participate in the full 5 days (October 19-23) you will be trained to conduct family mediations as well, including divorce and child custody mediations.
The training will take place from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. each day. Participants will develop their mediation skills through role-plays and interactive exercises and receive extensive one-on-one coaching and written evaluations of their skill development from coaches with a wide range of experience in a variety of types of civil and family mediation. The training covers a variety of topics, including:
The causes and dynamics of conflict
Listening skills
Negotiation theory
Interests vs. positions – getting at the real goals in a conflict
