Academic Advisor Forum: The Fundamentals of Student Success: Strategies for Addressing Students’ Basic Needs

The ability to meet students’ basic needs is integral to student success at Missouri State University. This forum offers advisors the opportunity to learn how to better connect students with available support services including childcare, food assistance (SNAP and Bear Pantry), Medicaid and emergency scholarship funds. Advisors will hear from Cheryl Winder (DSS), Alex Johnson (Bear Pantry) and Kelly Evans (Emergency Scholarship Fund). Following the presentations, advisors will have the opportunity to ask the panelists questions and brainstorm about additional services needed to ensure student success.
