Visiting Artists, Designers and Scholars Series: Anna Valdez: Through Observation

Anna Valdez is a multi-disciplinary artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area who examines the relationship between objects, cultural formation and collective consciousness. Creating epic tableaux in her studio, Valdez moves seamlessly between still life and landscape painting, collecting objects and making new ones through cultivation, observation and fictionalization. Valdez has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at Hashimoto Contemporary, Nancy Margolis Gallery, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and Juxtapoz Magazine, among many other venues.
