Join a cross-disciplinary group of faculty and engage in an active, collaborative, semester-long program about enhancing teaching and learning. FLCs are teams of 8 to 10 faculty and members will engage in frequent seminars and activities that provide learning, development, and community building. Through participation in their community, faculty will build a product or plan in support of enhancing teaching and learning. FLC’s are facilitated by FCTL Faculty Fellows or staff and usually meet 5 times during the semester for a total of 10 contact hours. Members that successfully complete goals and objectives set by their community will be eligible for a $500 mini grant to extend their learning and implement their chosen project.
The goal of this FLC, led by Dr. Nicole West, is to enhance the personal well-being and professional success of women faculty at MSU by increasing their scholarly productivity and providing a community of collegial support. We will work through the book “Writing your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks: A Guide to Academic Publishing Success,” with a faculty partner and develop a scholarly manuscript for publication by the end of the semester.
Please note that this is a series of sessions and you must register through My Learning Connection to be part of this Faculty Learning Community.
