Riccardi-Swartz is a Missouri State University Department of Religious Studies alumna (BA, 2011; MA, 2014), whose primary area of interest while at MSU was Russian Orthodoxy. Her research and anthropological ethnographical experiences since then contribute to a broad understanding of the current crisis in Ukraine as it relates to religion and politics.
