The Brick City Gallery is delighted to present two simultaneous exhibitions exploring kinetic movement in sculptural installations.
Moonment: Sizhu Li presents a site specific, immersive installation inspired by an ancient Chinese poem by Jiuling Zhang. Moonment reflects on connection and the love we feel for those separated by time and space through the creation of a heartbeat and undulating metalic moving waves.
Hothouse: Rachel Youn utilizes kinetic found sculptures that gyrate to a mix of dance music and Korean church audio. Youn conflates these two spaces, trying to find an intersection between opposing worlds and to reconcile a queer body in space.
The Brick City Gallery will be open for First Friday Art Walk, Oct. 1 from 6-9 p.m.
