
Desiree D. Powell is currently a planning technician with the City of Grand Prairie, Texas. She is the author of a "Viewpoint," an op-ed column, article printed in the fall of 2020 American Planners Association (APA) Magazine entitled, "Walking the Racial Equity Walk."
She is an urban planner who sets her focus on placemaking in the state of Texas. She is the creator of blckspces. Blckspces is a website where Powell writes features about the Black experience in urban design. She identifies herself as passionate about people, places and spaces from the Black/Brown perspective.
