
The MSU Jazz Festival is a full day of performances and clinics for high school bands from throughout the state. The evening concert will feature jazz trombone legend Steve Wiest with MSU's Jazz Studies Ensemble I, directed by Randy Hamm. Wiest is a multiple Grammy-nominated trombonist, composer, author and cartoonist. The former soloist and writer for Maynard Ferguson, hr went on to perform on the road with Doc Severinsen and the Old Tonight Show Orchestra, as well as many other artists. Wiest is co-chair of jazz studies at The University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music and is an Edwards Instruments Performing Artist. For more information, please visit the Jazz Fest website.
