
Utilizing an Intersectional Approach in Gender Equity Studies of Academic Professions: Strengths and Challenges

Intersectionality is a frame, or a lens, through which the interaction of multiple form of inequality become visible. This talk will provide an introduction to the concept of intersectionality, focused on why this approach is key for understanding and addressing gender inequality in the academy. The talk will end with a discussion of some of the challenges of utilizing an intersectional approach in gender equity studies of academic professions and offers suggestions for addressing them.
