Nutrition Talks: Personalized Nutrition

Nutrition Talks: Personalized Nutrition
Date and time
5:15 PM - 6:30 PM, April 21, 2020
Description

Can food affect our genes or how they are expressed?  Should we follow diet recommendations based upon our specific DNA? Are the online companies that offer personalized nutrition credible?

In this session, we will examine how nutrients, such as fats, proteins, vitamins and phytochemicals influence DNA, regulate the expression of genes and maintain the integrity of DNA. We will also give an overview of the pros/cons of genetic testing, particularly as they relate to individualized food and supplement recommendations. Don’t let the big words intimidate you as this is a session you do NOT want to miss!
