The Department of Art and Design will host two internationally-renowned guests for a series of public presentations and workshops. The community and university are invited to join us for public talks by visual artist Marie Watt and by critic, author and educator Terry Barrett.
At 11:15 a.m. Watt will speak about her collaboratively made quilts, objects and installations that involve intersections of history, community, indigenous teachings and storytelling.
A light lunch will be provided in the museum lobby from 12:15-1:00 p.m.
At 1:00 p.m., Barrett will speak about critique processes and approaches to art interpretation. His student-centered books on aesthetics, criticism and visual literacy have long been revered by professors and students.
