Description

Formerly known as Tunnel of Oppression, this event is an interactive experience that educates participants about power, privilege, and oppression. Over 1,500 participants have experienced its powerful impact over the last nine years.

Tunnel embodies our Public Affairs mission because it provides knowledge to become culturally competent about various social issues. Through exposure to live scenarios, participants are challenged to face real social justice issues that occur every day in our community. The topics that are covered by Tunnel vary from year to year. For 2019 the following topics are featured:

  • Opioid Crisis
  • Mass Shootings
  • Mocking Modest Choices
  • Believing Sexual Assault Survivors
  • Mental Health Advocacy

In the rooms, actors will portray issues that are pressing to the different topics being covered in the Tunnel this year. The event will be held in Wells House and will begin in the Grand Lounge on the ground level. The last tour will leave at 8:30pm each night.

Step out of your comfort zone and into the tunnel!
