Description

Ronda Burnett, the Community Conservation Planner from the Missouri Department of Conservation will be presenting. She helps communities connect to nature and enjoy the enhanced quality of life made possible by healthy fish, forest and wildfile resources. 

Community conservation includes practices that increase the benefits that communities receive from the wise use and management of natural resources as well as practices that decrease the negative impact of urbanizaiton on nature. Attendees of the presentation will learn about the characteristics embodied by conservation communities; tools that can be used to increase biodiversity, sustainability and connections to nature. She will talk about relevant case studies that illustrate how Missouri communities are utilizing conservation planning practices.

Ronda holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University and a Master of Urban, Environmental and Land Use Planning from the Univeristy of Kansas.
