Hunak, meaning "there" in Arabic is a research-based contemporary dance piece that explores questions of culture, identity and conflict in Israel/Palestine. This work centers around seeking understanding/ humanization through observation, self-reflection, transnational collaboration and identifying cross-cultural parallels. This show is presented as part of Missouri State University's Department of Theatre and Dance Fall 2018 Studio Series. It is funded by the "Mid East Meets Midwest" grant provided by Missouri State University's Department of Middle Eastern Studies.

In this performance, we are honored to welcome Palestinian musician Omar Zinaty who will compose music and share the stage with us.
