This season, we're teaming up with the Messiah Project to bring you some special performances. Prepare yourself for a season of thanks and giving with two operas that share timeless messages of love, forgiveness, faith and gratitude.
Menotti's beloved holiday opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors tells the story of the three kings as they make their way to visit the Christ child. The three kings stop for the night at the home of a poor single mother and her crippled son. The child offers a gift and a miracle happens.
In David Conte's new opera based on the O. Henry short story, we meet a poor young couple who learn that showing love doesn't require money and that the best gifts are not always wrapped in boxes. Conte's score is stunning and sure to become a classic for all times.
