
Dr. Maren Freudenberg, research associate at the Center for Religious Studies (CERES), Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany, will present a free public lecture, “Neo-Charismatics in Germany and Switzerland: On the Periphery of Organized Christianity.”
Dr. Freudenberg earned a Ph.D. in sociology from the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies, Freie Universität Berlin, is the author of "The Mainline in Late Modernity: Tradition and Innovation in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America" (Lexington, 2017), and is associate editor of "Entangled Religions, Interdisciplinary Journal for the Study of Religious Contact and Transfer."
She will discuss her research in charismatic Christian movements, and the social and cultural transformation of religion in western Europe.
