
Food is powerful. Families, friends and business partners meet over food. One hundred percent of our population consumes it, but less than 2 percent of our population is directly involved in producing food. Perhaps it should be no surprise that popularized views on food, food production and food security are often at odds with scientific data on food nutrition, GMO safety and animal welfare. What roles do families, schools and communities (both local and international) have in assuring an abundant, affordable and trustworthy food supply from which producers can earn an acceptable income?
